(New) 4/23/13 Our season has officially wrapped up. I have felt hesitant to submit a final post searching for something profoundly impactful and meaningful and can’t grasp the words to describe the pride I have had for you and respect I have for your effort this season. Denial of season-end perhaps. We still have our celebration event as well as the Spring Sports Banquet. I’ll see you then. - Coach

Thank you Lonnie Poole for cutting us a break on the rate becasue we brought them business before with the clinic. We have our last match on Tuesday and will plan to meet for practice on Wednesday to talk about the closure of this season.
3/27-April 7th. No practice remainder of this week into SPRING BREAK. Make good choices. Play golf. I'll see you when you come back on Monday April 8th ready for a playoff.
3/25 This is a short and exciting week. I am looking forward to getting out with the team again in a non-stressful practice only environment. Players should be working on simple shots and putting only 2 strokes on the green. With some players last week, I had them mark their initial putt and start over if they could not get down in 2 putts. We will continue this. We have a Senior Event on Tuesday for our match at Hasentree. Hasentree Golf Course is a private facility located in Wake Forest area. It was designed by Tom Fazio and requires a mature thoughtful golfer with a nice touch on and around the green. Our schedule reflects no practices on Wednesday and Thursday leading into a well deserved Spring Break. I Hope and Expect players will return from break ready golf.
3/21 Time to get on the course to practice without having to worry about a playoff. Lets have some fun and force some shots we don't typically play. Maybe St. Patricks Day has sparked some shenannigans.
Thursday pairings Group A Jordan Brown, Chris Merritt, Ashton Larkin, Coach Group B Jordan Pearce, Josh Pearce, Evan Walsh, Group C Anthony Davis, Kevin Lynn, Gowarty Group D Nick Larson, Grayson Gould, Reece Knight
3/11 Pairings: (A) Walsh, Pearce, Pearce, Coach; (B) Larson, Lynn, Brown; (C) Davis, Larkin, Gould; (D) Merritt, Knight, Gowarty (Coach will cycle through all groups)
3/11-3/14 This week we prepare for our match at Carolina Country Club. Monday we are on the course and will playoff for Wednesday. Walsh, Pearce, and Pearce have already qualified for this match. Remaining 7 will compete for spots 4-6. Tuesday and Thursday will be held on the practice facility. We still owe ourselves time with the short stuff. We will also be looking at the risk and reward aspects of the game. We will also review rules and focus on positive confident self-talk on the course. Looking forward to a great week! Parents planning to attend the match, there will be no carts available to spectators, no outside food/beverages per CCC policy. Practice positive reframing; parents are welcome to walk the course and may purchase food/beverages from the clubhouse.
3/6 Windy day for practice practice. It will be nicer tomorrow but still windy so we will pay close attention to how the wind manipulates our shots and how to keep our ball low.
3/4-3/7 OpeningMatch week! We are doubled up this week with matches on Monday and Thursday. Starting off at North Ridge CC and rounding out at Heritage. Early Release on Monday at 1:45 from class to the mini bus in the student parking lot (Thursday TBA prob 1:30 ER also have a bus). 2/25-2/28: We get a full week of training and preparation to start off the season strong. Make your apparel purchases through Mark Larson this week. There were a couple families wanting to avoid the higher unnecessary purchase of the Black shirt. Sanderson Red we go!
2/21 pairings: Group: A (2:55) Walsh, Pearce, Pearce, Coach Group B: Larson, Gould, Merritt Group C: Davis, Brown, Lynn Group D: Knight, Larkin, Tucker.
2/19-2/21: Looking to shave strokes on and around the green. Tuesday will be all about the short stuff and confidence with the putter. Wednesday we will do some more of the same but extend to mid irons on the range for distance control. Saftey, code of conduct, ettiquite, and driving to and from practice/matches will also be discussed. Thursday we are on the course. Parent meeting on Thursday at 4:45 on the patio.
2/18: Unlucky the course was frozen over and we couldn't play our scheduled 18 holes. Final team selected. Thank you to all the guys that came out to try out for the team this year. There wasn't one guy I wouldn't have wanted on the team and I expect to see you back again next year.
